In May 2010 Carson (Age 5 years) & Claire DeJoode (Age 5 months) died as a result of injuries from a pick up that ran stop sign crashing into their mother, Heather's min-van. The crash hospitalized their three year old brother Chase, and left Heather in a coma with a traumatic brain injury. In the immediate aftermath of this tragedy the outpouring of support from the community was overwhelming. After doing a number of projects informally in memory of Carson & Claire, in February 2016 Troy & Heather DeJoode formed the Carson & Claire Forever Foundation in hopes of honoring their memory.
The Carson & Claire Forever Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides educational and fitness opportunities to children through collaboration with teachers and coaches to help them Read and Play Forever.
